Systems Division /
Corporate IT Dept. TT
I belong to Systems Division and am involved in promoting collaboration with alliance partners and group company UD Trucks. I organize the status of various projects running throughout the company from an IT perspective and make adjustments regarding necessary system responses.
I originally wanted to work in IT. When I thought about where I could use my skills, I became interested in the commercial vehicle industry, where products have a long lifespan and high expectations for IT technology. I also thought that technology would be best utilized in the small and medium-sized vehicles used in urban areas, and the fact that Isuzu is a company with strengths in these vehicle types was a deciding factor. Also, I felt that the people were friendly during the recruitment process, and I naturally began to feel comfortable as I went through multiple interviews. This impression did not change even after I actually joined the company.
What I find attractive about Isuzu is that there are so many projects, so everyone has the opportunity to demonstrate leadership. It's never monotonous, so you never get bored. Even if you suddenly find yourself in a leadership role, most people are calm and kind, so it's easy to consult with them when you're in trouble or have a problem. The work atmosphere is quite relaxed, and there are few situations where you have to be overly considerate. We call our superiors by their honorific "san" rather than by their job title, and recently, business casual attire has been encouraged, so there's no longer an atmosphere of wearing a suit and tie. Additionally, a flextime system has already been implemented, but core times will be eliminated from next fiscal year (April 2024), so I'm hoping that this will allow for even more flexible working styles.
I find it rewarding to be involved in work related to company transformation in my daily work. The company has grown at a pace I never imagined when I joined the company as a new graduate five years ago, and in this environment, I am involved in many projects that involve collaborating with other companies. I am constantly getting new work and new colleagues, and each time I do so, my values are updated, which makes every day exciting and enjoyable.
I'm increasingly feeling the globalization of our company culture. Collaborative projects are primarily conducted in English, even in Japan, and our team members are of diverse nationalities. As our company culture becomes more globalized, people with different ways of thinking and cultures tend to have misunderstandings due to their fixed ideas. However, I believe that sorting out each other's ways of thinking and taking the best from each other without rejecting the other person will lead to success in work and growth in self-confidence. I would like to continue sorting out my own and others' ways of thinking in order to dispel fixed ideas and create good things.

My "I Do declaration is to "listen to English every day." This is because, despite attending many English meetings, I'm not good at listening comprehension.
In order to achieve "No. 1 job satisfaction," we will work to create an atmosphere where we respect each other's opinions through collaborative projects!
When two companies with different ways of thinking and cultures work together on collaborative projects, misunderstandings can arise due to preconceived notions on both sides. However, by verbalizing each other's ways of thinking and discussing them, understanding deepens, leading to the collaborative creation of better ways of doing things.
If you want to work in a free and open environment and take the initiative, come to Isuzu!
