Colleagues with the same goals who are serious about manufacturing

Please tell me your job duties.

I am in charge of developing xEV control in the CN Strategy Division's xEV System Development Department 2.
My main job is to think about what kind of car we want to make and how we can achieve that through control, and then verify it.

What do you like about Isuzu? What are its charms?

Isuzu has a culture of sincerely taking manufacturing seriously, and the people who create that culture are what make it so appealing.

When do you feel a sense of accomplishment or fulfillment in your work? What is interesting about your current job?

I am in charge of control development to realize the functions and performance of the vehicle, so it is interesting to be in charge of the manufacturing of the product itself, the vehicle. Inevitably, the control development I am involved in will have a direct impact on the end user.
Since everyone works with the customer in mind, there is a sense of unity as everyone works toward the same goal.
As part of the control development team, the process of releasing a vehicle into the world after undergoing evaluation within the development team is itself rewarding and leads to a sense of accomplishment.

What do you value most when leading a team?

Since the aim is to control the functionality and performance of the entire vehicle, horizontal connections are extremely important.
In leading a team, I need to communicate and coordinate with not only my own department but all the control personnel involved in the process, so I try to see everything as my own responsibility.
We also value the fact that everyone is always facing the customer and facing the same direction. This is not something that someone should lead, but rather it is necessary for everyone to be aware of the same thing, and in that sense, I think that horizontal connections are extremely important.

Please tell us how you feel Isuzu has changed recently and what you yourself are trying to change.

I feel that the emergence of activities like ISUZU ID from within Isuzu may be a turning point.

I don't think there's a need to change everything that our predecessors have built up over the years at Isuzu.
There are many things that I have inherited from my seniors and that I treasure. These include attitudes toward manufacturing, ways of thinking, and the structure of the company, but I think that how we protect these important parts and how we come up with creative ways to protect them may be what will bring about change.
I hope that this will become part of a series of activities, and I would like to be a part of that effort myself.

Tell us your "I Do" statement*.

*A concrete declaration that each employee who makes up Isuzu will take ISUZU ID personally and change their own behavior.

My "I Do declaration is "Be sincere." That's because I believe it's fundamental to Isuzu, a manufacturing company.

What actions will you take to achieve the four ISUZU ID No. 1s?

We aim to develop better products to achieve our goal of being "No. 1 in environmental friendliness."

Regarding ISUZU ID's core value of "Mutual Inspiration," how is it currently contributing to this?

The control system development I'm in charge of requires close collaboration not only within my own department but also with all the function and model-specific teams. I believe that mutual respect for the knowledge and expertise of everyone involved, and the resulting creation of better cars, is the very essence of "Mutual Inspiration."

The process of gathering everyone in the department to discuss and consider the requirements, and engaging in conversations with other departments, is a daily occurrence.
There are countless stories I could share, but I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to Mutual Inspiration on a daily basis.

What kind of person would you recommend Isuzu to?

While special backgrounds and outstanding skills are welcome, this is a company where people who are serious about manufacturing and who value colleagues who share the same goals can thrive.
