Promotion of Sustainability

Message from the Chairperson of the Sustainability Committee

Naohiro Yamaguchi (President and Representative Director, CEO)
Naohiro Yamaguchi
(President and Representative Director, CEO)

To further strengthen our response to key sustainability challenges at the management level, from April 2026, I, as President and Representative Director, CEO, have taken on the role of Chairperson of the Sustainability Committee. This is intended to ensure that sustainability is not treated as a set of individual measures, but is integrated into management decision-making, business strategy, resource allocation, and risk management, and is promoted across the Group as a whole. Under the PURPOSE set forth in our corporate philosophy, the ISUZU ID — "Moving the World - for You" — the Isuzu Group will work together with our customers and partners to create new value in transportation. To achieve this, it is essential that we confront social issues, including climate change and respect for human rights, head-on. I regard our response to these challenges as both a corporate responsibility and a driving force for creating new value and achieving growth. Even as environmental, social, and governance issues become increasingly interconnected and complex, we see this as an opportunity for transformation and will work to address it through our business. Going forward, we will continue to engage in dialogue with our stakeholders, accurately capture society's expectations and requests, and contribute to enhancing corporate value and to the realization of a sustainable society.

Management Structure

To promote sustainability throughout the Group, Isuzu has established the Sustainability Committee, with the officers responsible for each of our business domains serving as standing members. Since fiscal 2027, the President and Representative Director has served as Chairperson, strengthening management-led promotion of sustainability. The Sustainability Committee meets regularly (at least four times annually) to deliberate on matters related to sustainability, such as climate change risks and human rights. The matters deliberated by the Sustainability Committee are reported to the Management Meeting and the Board of Directors as necessary, depending on their importance. Under the Sustainability Committee, specialized environmental and social subcommittees have been established to address specific issues. Additionally, in fiscal 2026, we established a new Sustainability Disclosure Subcommittee to improve our information disclosure in light of trends in sustainability information disclosure. We also hold the Isuzu Group Sustainability Liaison Conference for consolidated subsidiaries to share information for promoting sustainability activities throughout the Group.
